Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Delores M. (nee: Johnson) Schmidt, age 94, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Talahi Care Center. Reverend Dee Pederson will officiate. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.Delores was born on June 3, 1922 to Randolph and Anna (Berg) Johnson in Hanley Falls, Minnesota. She married Leonard “Barney” Johnson on December 27, 1941 in Granite Falls. Leonard passed away on June 4, 1989. She then married Earl Schmidt in 1992; he later passed away in 2012. She cherished her work with the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict at the St. Cloud Hospital, where she worked for 20 plus years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and fishing with her husband Barney. Delores was known to never let you leave the house without a cookie or treat. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.She is survived by her children, Diana (Gary) Breitwieser of Sauk Rapids, Shirley Forcier of Waite Park, and Larry (Linda) Johnson of St. Cloud; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Earl’s children, Diane (Gary) Loegering and Robert (Cheryl) Koll; sister, Marcella Schick of Olivia and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and siblings, Arvid, Dennis, Rayden, Norma, Phyllis and Sylvia.A special thank you to the staff of Talahi Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for their special care; and to Delores’ friend Bonnie, who often prayed with her at Talahi Care Center.
